New Patients

New patients are welcome at Broadshires Dental Practice and they can choose to be examined under the NHS or privately.

The practice is located on the Broadshires Health Centre complex and can be easily reached by car or bus and there is plenty of free parking on site.

All new patients are advised to come in to the practice to fill out a new patient medical form, this information will be entered on to our system and waiting list and a member of staff will call you when we have availability.

Waiting times for new patients can vary from month to month so please ask at reception for the current waiting times.

At your first appointment the dentist will complete an initial assessment, including; full examination of the hard and soft tissues in your mouth and any necessary X-rays and photographs.

Your dentist will explain the findings of your initial assessment and discus any X-rays or photographs taken, to improve your awareness of your oral health status.

You will be advised of any basic issues that you have, such as infection, gum disease or tooth decay, before any cosmetic considerations are discussed with you.

Your dentist will explain all the treatment options available to you, both under the NHS and Privately.

It is important that our patients understand the care and treatment choices that are available to them.

They can express their views and are involved in making decisions about their care.

They have their privacy, dignity and independence respected, and have their views and experiences taken into account in the way in which the service is delivered.

Once you have agreed to any treatment and the dentist is sure you understand the aims of treatment and the costs involved, you will be provided with a comprehensive treatment plan and consent form to read through carefully and sign before your treatment is commenced.
